Justiça e Vingança são mais do que opostos. São a negação uma da outra. Os membros de uma equação cujo resultado é zero, nada, o vazio.
Paradoxalmente, conseguem coexistir na Lei, porque a Lei não é nem Justiça nem Vingança, mas bebe de ambas para tomar forma. É por isso que a Lei consegue ser tão imperfeita. Devendo ser por definição uma manifestação prática da Justiça, deixa-se contaminar pela Vingança, e acaba por ser Nada.
Onde a Justiça frutifica, a Vingança não lança raízes. Onde a Vingança asfixia a terra, nada mais cresce, nem a Justiça nem o Amor.
A Justiça é a poda dos ramos secos da árvore para que os outros ramos consigam crescer melhor. E nem os ramos secos são considerados inúteis pela Justiça, antes se tornam lenham para que mesmo na sua queda se tornem relevantes.
A Vingança queima o pomar e salga a terra, para que nada mais lá cresça. A Vingança não semeia para o futuro, apenas destrói em nome do passado.
A cada um de nós cabe a escolha entre Justiça e Vingança, momento a momento. A cada um de nós cabe a escolha entre criar e destruir, entre o que seremos e o que fomos.
Que cada um de nós decida em consciência se é a Justiça ou a Vingança que norteia as nossas ações.

Justice and Vengeance are more than opposites. They are each other denial. The members of a equation whose result is zero, nothing, the void.
Paradoxically, they can coexist on Law, because Law is neither Justice nor Vengeance, but draws on both to take shape. That's why Law can be so imperfect. By definition, it should be a usable manifestation of Justice, whoever it let itself be contaminated by Vengeance, and becomes Nothing.
Where Justice grows, Vengeance does not set roots. Where Vengeance asphyxiates the land, nothing else grows, neither Justice, neither Love.
Justice is the pruning of the dry branches of the tree to allow the others to grow better. And even those dry branches are not useless to Justice, rather they become kindle, so they become relevant even in their fall.
Vengeance burns the orchard and salts the ground, so nothing else grows there. Vengeance does not seeds for the future, it only destroys in the name of the past.
To each one of us fall the choice between Justice and Vengeance, instance by instance. To each one of us falls the choice between create and destroy, between what we will be and what we were.
May each one of us make the conscious decision if it is Justice or Vengeance that guides our actions.
